Join us for Third Annual Nuclear Prayer Day on August 6, 2024

Updated: Jul 19

Nuclear Prayer Day, August 6th, is a day we take a moment to remember the horrific loss of life in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and renew our spiritual commitment to see an end to the nuclear threat hanging over us and all life on the planet. You're invited to join people all over the world praying that day for a world free of nuclear weapons.

You're also invited to join a live Zoom event that day called “Spiritual Power: Hope in Action for Nuclear Weapons Abolition”. This event is co-sponsored by some 30 organizations involved in nuclear weapons abolition and will be streamed globally at 12PM Eastern Daylight Time. We'll hear from people who have been directly affected, longtime leaders for nuclear weapons abolition and young inspiring activists - and we'll talk with each other about where we find our own strength for this work and what each of us can do to help. Here's the link (no registration required): https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88371822270.

There are many other ways you can participate - for example, sponsoring an awareness event in your community or inviting your faith community to recognize the nuclear threat in their prayers over the previous weekend.
